At Health Tips News, we believe the web should work for everyone. We continually improve this site so that people of all abilities can use it with ease.

Which guidelines we use

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA — the benchmark referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

What we have put in place

  • Full keyboard operation of menus, controls and interactive elements.
  • Text alternatives for images and meaningful names for links, buttons, icons and embedded media.
  • Pinch-to-zoom is never blocked, and motion is reduced for visitors who prefer reduced motion.
  • Clear labels on form fields so they work with screen readers and voice control.
  • Ongoing automated checks of the site against WCAG 2.1 AA.
  • A “skip to main content” link, page landmarks and a visible keyboard focus outline.

Known limitations

A few features come from outside providers (maps, videos, booking and review tools) that are outside our control and may not be fully accessible. If you hit a barrier, contact us and we will make sure you can still get what you need.
